Today, we’re talking about the Canon C70 and slightly pivoting from our normal wedding content. This camera is seriously Epik! We’re loving all the new features of this beautiful cinema camera especially to capture weddings.
New toys are exciting, aren’t they? The feel of it in your hand, the new experiences you’re about to have, these are all things one may feel when getting their new toy. Here at Epik, our head of visual arts, Aaron, just got his hands on the Canon C70 and those feelings mentioned earlier were just a few things he felt with his new camera.
This cinematic camera has so many high-end video features and comes in a nice, compact size which is perfect for videographers that are constantly on the move (capturing their couples all over their wedding venue). From a nerd standpoint, this is the smallest cinema camera in the world. The C70 also allows us to bring Netflix level production quality to your wedding, which is a pretty big deal and what really attracted us to this camera.
Now let’s talk about video quality. Not all of us are currently consuming 4k content regularly; but soon, that will be the norm. This camera shoots in 4k. What does this mean for our clients? High-end video in 4k quality that adapts to the future of technology.
The dynamic range 16 stops – why is this important ?
During the ceremony when the light is shining directly on you, this camera allows us to capture everything without too much washed out light. With most cameras, the lighting needs to be balanced on the subjects and in the background. Without the light balance, external lights are needed, which requires more equipment, set up, and time. The Canon C70 removes the need for all the extras and allows us to capture all the magical moments in virtually any lighting situation.
