Your wedding day deserves to be celebrated with your loved ones … and that includes your dog!

According to WeddingWire.com, 49% of newly engaged couples have a pet together. Many of our couples have chosen to include their furry family members on the wedding festivities. We’ve curated a list of adorable dog wedding ideas to include your dog in your wedding.

The first five are for those who will not have their dogs physically present at their wedding but are still great options for those dog lovers out there.

1. Engagement shoot

Bring your dog to the engagement shoot! We’ve had plenty of couples include their dog on the engagement shoot because their wedding venue may have a pet restriction.

2.  Save the Dates

Once you receive your engagement photos, it’s time to create and send out the Save the Dates with your dog’s face on it.

3. Cake topper

Part of wedding planning includes perusing Etsy and seeing how creative people are. There are tons of really cute dog wedding topper ideas, it just depends on what you’re looking for. Click here to see some dog wedding cake toppers.

4.  Signature Cocktail

Your dog can be a part of the festivities by having a signature drink named after them. We love how this couple had their own drinks plus one for their fur babe.

5.  Photo of the Furry Special Guest

The photo above shows a dog with a sign around it’s neck that says, “My humans are getting married!”

Having a photo of your dog is a great way to honor them and the love they contributed to your relationship. This is such an easy way to include your dog in your wedding because if you’re anything like us, we have endless amounts of footage of our dog.

6.   First Look

Include your pup on the first look! This couple had a special first look for themselves then they had a first look with their dog. It was such a sweet moment and definitely a top first look moment for the Epik Weddings and Events team.

7. Greeter before the ceremony

This is such a great idea for venues that don’t allow dogs because your dog will be outside! Your pup can greet your guests as they walk up to the ceremony location. There’s dogs that love his because of all the head scratches.

8. The Pup of Honor

The pup of honor is for those good boys and girls who can sit pretty throughout the whole day. These dogs are so well trained and really chill. They get to be a part of the so much of the day.

9. Prop for the photo booth

This one is our favorite way to include your dog in your wedding. We use our dog mini goldendoodle as a prop and test subject for our photo booths.

10. Dogs instead of bouquets

This bride and her bridesmaids opted for the unconventional wedding bouquet. Instead of flowers, these ladies held puppies. The bride held her own dog while the bridesmaid held puppies that were up for adoption at their local shelter. The cutest part were the tiny flower crowns the puppies wore!

Here’s a couple other tips to help you include your dog in your wedding:

Give your dog enough exercise the morning of your wedding

Give your dog enough exercise the morning of your wedding so they’ll be sitting pretty for your wedding photos and wedding video.

Designate someone to attend to your dog while you are preoccupied with wedding things.

The big day is also exciting for your dog. There will be so many other people around and they’ll be able to feel the excitement too.
