Why Live Stream Your Wedding?
Live streaming weddings has become an option couples are seriously looking into due to COVID and the need for social distancing. In an effort to continue the wedding celebrations while keeping those considered high risk safe during this time, live streaming your wedding has been the way many couples have been able to share their nuptials with their loved ones.
Here at Epik, we saw how some couples were live streaming their weddings through Zoom or Facebook and we saw a way to help using the professional equipment our team has along with a few new items to enhance and stream the experience. We want to make the wedding day Epik even for those who couldn’t physically attend the wedding.
We didn’t want to let the effects of COVID stop couples from sharing their love with the ones who couldn’t be there. Live streaming weddings seemed like a perfect alternative. While we were quarantined during the onset of this pandemic, we used that time to research the tools and resources we would need in order to make this work in the best way for our couples. We spent hours testing the cameras, microphones, and software to make sure that we’ve got this process down.
With Epik, our live streaming wedding services make live streaming your wedding easier than you could have dreamed of. Our live streaming wedding service includes a videographer to capture you as you walk down the aisle, your first dance, toasts, and more. State of the art microphone systems are set up to ensure your virtual guests are able to hear all those vows loud and clear.
With our live streaming wedding service, we’ll also create a webpage specifically for your guests to view you two sharing your vows and then some. We capture some information from you to have your photo at the top of the page, your wedding details, and password protect the page so that you may share the link with your virtual guests along with the password for a private and secure experience.
What if my ceremony location doesn’t have a strong internet connection?
We have a solution to this and we call it Live-Stream, Buffered. This not only works great as a solution if the internet isn’t strong, but a preferred method to have a high quality video of your ceremony without the worry of the internet speed. Here is how it works: We set up a single camera filming in 1080p (live-stream quality is typically 640p at best) with a wireless mic that feeds directly into the camera. After we capture the ceremony, we rush the video to an area with strong internet so we can upload your nuptials to the personal password protected webpage for all to enjoy again and again, typically scheduled for your virtual guests at 2-3 hours after the ceremony ends. If you also hired Epik Weddings & Events to create a wedding film and/or photograph your wedding, we use this same webpage to upload your finished wedding film and photos. That way you can share your love story at the same location your live streamed wedding began!
“But can’t I just live stream my wedding on my own?”
Yes, live streaming your wedding is something you can certainly DIY. Grab a tripod, set up your phone and live stream to Zoom or Facebook. For those looking for an elevated and worry-free experience, we take the work off your shoulders and whomever in your wedding party you were going to delegate this task to. Let everyone experience the moment with you.
Our live streaming service is supported on most browsers for both desktop and mobile so it will be even easier for your guests to join your wedding from anywhere they have internet connection. Our live streaming services can bring your family and friends together all in one virtual place.
Gatherings have changed with all the uncertainty going on but one thing we know for sure is that love not cancelled. With all the craziness going on in the world today, love is the very thing we need to bring us all together.
How are other couples doing this?
Many of our couples have needed to make drastic changes to their wedding plans due to COVID. Because of our new least favorite C-word, couples have had to reduce their guest list to comply with social distancing guidelines or postpone their weddings.
Some of our couples are opting to keep their original wedding date and having a small,
intimate wedding ceremony with a larger celebration in the future. These immensely intimate gatherings are what our couples have contracted us to video-graph and live stream their ceremony to all their loved ones who couldn’t be there.
Once this pandemic is all over and we’re able to gather in large crowds again, our team will be there to help video-graph their sequel wedding with Epik DJ’s helping guests have fun on the dance floor.
