In 2020, couples have had to elope and wait to have their wedding celebrations later. For Adriana and Hailey, they got their Lake Tahoe wedding first, then later on had their dreamy Lake Tahoe elopement.
When we spoke with Hailey’s mom, she told us that she grew up visiting Lake Tahoe and her love for the area was something her daughter Hailey now possessed. They’ve been coming to Lake Tahoe for years, so when it was time for Adriana and Hailey to tie the knot, the couple knew Lake Tahoe was where they wanted to get married.
When Hailey first reached out to us in 2019 looking for a DJ for her wedding, she and Adriana were planning on getting married with 120 of their family and friends in attendance. Fast forward to 2020 just a couple months after the onset of the pandemic — plans needed to pivot to a smaller celebration. With much sadness, Adriana and Hailey broke the news to their beloved guests that their wedding was going to be much more intimate than they had planned.
These Lake Tahoe lovers found a beautiful vacation home right on the water with a dock. Adriana and Hailey had plans to hop onto a boat after their ceremony to take some photos. They knew this was the perfect place to hold their wedding ceremony.
2020 brought on a pandemic which halted so many couples’ wedding plans but not for Adriana and Hailey. They maneuvered through those challenges like pros but one thing they couldn’t maneuver through was the smoke. 2020 also brought incredible fires that burned all throughout the west coast. Lake Tahoe’s beautiful blue skies were switched for smokey clouds and low visibility. So much smoke had settled into the valley making it difficult to see across the lake like you normally could. Not a pandemic or smoke was going to get in the way of these two getting married.
After all the heartfelt planning, their wedding day had come! These two were surrounded by their closest family and friends as they exchanged vows with Lake Tahoe as their backdrop for their nuptials. After a beautiful ceremony performed by Officiant Jackie, Adriana and Hailey jumped on a boat and sailed off into the smokey Lake Tahoe waters.
Once they got back to shore, the festivities continued with dinner, toasts from their favorite people, and of course, music that gets people dancing. Our videography team captured their special day as these special events unfolded. Below is the trailer from their wedding day.
These two were seriously so much fun to work with. Our team had such a great time getting to know them and sharing some great laughs. We just had to work with them again.
Since we had some extra free time, we wanted to set up a photoshoot to capture some elopement photography in Lake Tahoe. Adriana and Hailey were the first couple we thought of for this project because of their love for Tahoe. We know their original wedding day was smokey and this was an opportunity to add some footage of them in Tahoe in all her glory: without all that smoke. We asked them to be a part of the shoot and luckily for us, they said yes!
Adriana and Hailey took time out of their busy lives to come back to Lake Tahoe to reenact their vows in an elopement setting and we can’t thank them enough. Their elopement photos were breathtaking. The way the light hit Hailey’s dress and veil was perfection. The way they lovingly looked at each other was all so genuine. It was beautiful watching the two of them together.
Our friends at Chateau Bliss Wedding & Event Design created such a gorgeous boho inspired look for the elopement. The ceremony decor included an A-frame arch with boho inspired floral. Lanterns filled with candles were placed on top of wooden crates sat on both sides of the arch creating a unique setting for our couple. Chateau Bliss Wedding & Event Design also created the stunning bouquet and boutonniere which coordinated with the boho theme perfectly.
